“The weather outside was frightful, the company was delightful; we all had places to go but it was so cold in the snow!”

The 6th Arrington Christmas party at the Hardwicke Arms was well attended on Friday 18th December, despite a heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures, so a huge thank you to everyone who slipped and slid along to the event!

We had an excellent draw this year with 26 raffle prizes, all won by a wide selection of Arrington residents, friends from local villages, hotel guests and even my Mum (who lives in Cornwall!). Many thanks to all who so generously donated prizes, and of course to everyone who bought tickets!

There were a few quizzes going on to keep everyone guessing, and the wonderful “Who am I?” game which saw us all with sticky notes on our foreheads trying to guess which character we had been given…. “Ivy Tilsley” really struggled! Mulled wine and mince pies warmed our collective cockles!

Another big thank you must go to Kim who provided a sound system and music for us.

The overall amount raised for St Nicholas Church was £271.00, and the donation box is still on the bar for anyone who would like to add their loose change!

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas, and a peaceful, prosperous new year!
