Diary

Being at the centre of the village community, we are always pleased to host special nights and local fund-raisers such as quiz nights, the harvest supper, and the annual Arrington Christmas Party. All are welcome, so please contact us for further information of the next event.

Are you looking for somewhere to hold an event or fundraiser? Our function room is available for hire – please call for details!

Jazz Night

On the second Tuesday of every month, we hold a Trad Jazz night with resident band “The Dog House”. Entry is free and we kick off at about 8.00 pm.

Geoff, Anne and the gang will entertain you with good music and dubious jokes, and entry is free! Guest musicians are welcome. It’s a hugely popular evening, and bookings are advisable. Food from our main menu is always available. Special May Guests: The Memphis Jazz Band. With Potton City Jazz Band in June.

Rock Night
Local rock band “Black Sheep” play here regularly, and will transport you back to the sixties and seventies with numbers such as “Alright Now” and “Sweet Home Alabama”. A great night with much dancing, and again, free entry!

For those not lucky enough to be around at the time, the Rock ‘n’ Roll and R&B sounds of the late 50s which led to the “Swinging Sixties” and the “Psychedaelic Seventies”, still conjures up images from Bill Haley to The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks, Cream, The Small faces, the Who and many more legendary bands.

Black sheep describe themselves thus…

Black Sheep, a rock band that revives the music of those times, bringing it all back at full volume and performed outrageously by a motley crew who survived to tell the tale. Pubs, clubs, private parties, corporate events and theme evenings are all catered for. Al band members have previous experience in a variety of groups, and that experience shows.

This is no neat and pretty Boy Band; they’re an ugly crew with all the raw edges still in place.

Folk Night
Every other week, George and Jennie hold the “Sunday Session” in the restaurant. A mix of folk music and poetry, all are invited for “round the room”, mixed song and music. Come along with your musical instrument or be prepared to sing! Please see “The Unicorn” for further details.’
